Glint

Our in-house color + theme + preferences system provides a consistent and easy-to-use interface for dealing with visual customization. Glint is the most powerful tooling for malleable color use in design with a quick and easy method for defining color scales.

We generate colors using functions on a standard scale from 0 (white) to 1000 (black).

We use Bézier interpolation to generate the colors between stops in our standard palette, extending a small curated finite palette into a continuous and smooth scale which can be compiled into CSS variables (or dynamically rendered), used in partial HSL form with TailwindCSS to allow dynamic opacity, and rendered into the color format for other uses like d3 charts, GLSL shaders, canvas-based graphics, etc.
